The Puzzling Role of Biophotons in the Brain - Various work suggests that neurons emit or even conducts photons.Could it be that Biophotons help to synchronise the brain. In recent years growing body of evidence shows that photons play an important role in the basic functioning of cells. There are evidences that many cells use light to communicate. Various Groups have shown that rats brains are literally alight due to the photons produced by neurons as they work. This indicates that light plays an important role in the functioning of neurons. Scientists from University of Kerman in Iran are of the opinion that neurons contain many light sensitive molecules and hence are being influenced by Biophotons. Microtubules in cells can work as wave guides channeling light from one part of the cell to another. The light channeled by microtubules can help to coordinate activities in different parts of the brain. Roger Penrose suggested that Consciousness is a Quantum Mechanics Phenomenon and that microtubules is the medium in which Quantum Mechanics takes place. It appears that electrical activity in the Brain is synchronised by photons. Quantum mechanics in the microtubules might be responsible for the synchronisation.
