Concept of Gravity was discovered 500 years prior to Sir Issac Newton, who is considered to be the discoverer of the concept of Gravity. Bhaaskara ll or Bhaskaracharya ( 1114 - c. 1185) was an Indian Mathematician and Astronomer , who in his treatise , " Siddhant Shiromani ", writes on planetary positions, eclipses , cosmography, mathematical techniques and astronomical equipments. In modern times, the credit of discovering earth's gravitational field is given to Sir Issac Newton. However, very few people know that the same gravitational force was already discovered by the Indian sage Bhaskaracharya much before Sir Newton. In the " Surya Siddhant ", he makes a note on the force of gravity : "Objects fall on earth due to a force of attraction by earth . Therefore, the earth, planets, constellations, Moon and Sun are held in orbit due to this attraction ." Bhaskaracharya was the first to discover gravity much before, Sir Newton.
